Xylor Jane

Biography

Xylor Jane (Long Beach, CA, 1963) lives and works in Greenfield, Massachusetts. She has developed a unique artistic language that transcends traditional boundaries. Her paintings are characterized by the use of prime numbers, palindromes, and other mathematical sequences, creating visually stunning patterns that resonate with a deep sense of order and harmony.

Xylor Jane was featured in the exhibition A Spirit of Disruption presented by San Francisco Art Institute in celebration of their 150th anniversary.

Recently, Xylor Jane has a solo exhibition at UC Berkeley Art Museum titled Art Wall: Xylor Jane in 2023. Prior to this, she also exhibited at University Museum of Contemporary Art, Amherst (2019) and Santa Monica Museum of Art (2014).

Jane has participated in group shows at Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee (2023); Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, New York (2022); the New Britain Museum of American Art (2014); Boston University Art Gallery, Boston (2013); The Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow (2010) and DESTE Foundation for Contemporary Art, Athens (2006) among others. Her work has been featured in Art Forum, Art in America, the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and the Brooklyn Rail.
